1. What is your favorite WOD(s) or Skill(s)?
Annie is one of my all time favorite wods!!! It seems like it will never end but then…you see the light!!!!
2. What WOD is at the bottom of your list?
Anything that has overhead squats in it. YUCK!!!!
3. How would you describe your diet? (Paleo, Primal, Zone, Clean, etc.)
Actually, I’m still doing the trial and error routine with my diet. Still trying to find the right ratio of protein / carbs. Still once a week I do have my cheat meal!!
4. How did you hear about CrossFit Trenches?
Funny story about this question. Our kids are really into Crossfit and they have been for years. They came home at the end of last year for a visit and they wanted to a Crossfit workout. My husband said he knew of Crossfit Trenches and he talked with PC and we were able to bring the kids on a Saturday. The kids wanted me to do it with them. At first I said no as I didn’t want to embarrass them or myself. They wouldn’t listen to me and kept harping on me to do it – so like any mom I agreed! Well needless to say after that workout (which I did survive) it turned into doing Crossfit 2x a week, then 3x a week, and now I’m at 4x a week. Now my husband is also coming – we call this our time together. Cheering each other on and then helping each other off the floor.
5. How long have you been doing CrossFit?
This amazing journey started in October of 2014.
6. Describe your biggest milestone, achievement, or “A-ha” moment at CFT?
This one is easy to answer. Just a couple weeks ago I graduated from the 26lb kb to the 35lb kb. I was so overjoyed!!! As soon as I got in my car I texted our kids and my husband and said guess what I just did!!! It was a feeling of self-accomplishment reaching this milestone. I FINALLY DID IT!
7. What encouragement or advice would you give to new people coming in?
To have your little milestones set in your head – just like I did with the kb. Work your way gradually and don’t compare yourself to the person next to you or across the room. Everyone progresses at a different rate. Put 100% into each workout and you will see the results when you look into that mirror.
