1. What is your favorite WOD(s) or Skill(s)?

I don’t really have a favorite WOD. Snatch and rope climbs are my favorite skills. Those were two things I used to dread doing. Something finally clicked since I’ve been at Trenches and now I look forward to seeing them in the workout.

2. What WOD is at the bottom of your list?

I don’t enjoy any WOD that includes running. Sprinting is even worse, mainly because I have only one speed. Running, sprinting, power walking – it’s all the same thing for me!

3. How would you describe your diet? (Paleo, Primal, Zone, Clean, etc.)

Primal and it has transformed my life. My youngest son had some behavioral issues and tics. Cutting the processed foods and sugar out of our diets four years ago has eliminated his issues which has led to a much better home life for all of us.

4. How did you hear about CrossFit Trenches?

I used to workout with Coach Sarah at CrossFit St. Charles. When she told me she was coaching at Trenches it gave me the last little push I needed to get back to CrossFit after almost a year off.

5. How long have you been doing CrossFit?

Off and on for two and half years

6. Describe your biggest milestone, achievement, or “A-ha” moment at CFT?

I am realizing that I am stronger than I give myself credit for. Coach Sarah, Coach Trish, and my 8am and 9am friends motivate me to try harder every single time I walk through the door. They are the reason I love CrossFit. They are the reason I don’t take off the weights that Coach Sarah tries to sneak onto my bar. I want to be as strong as these women. Working out alongside them has helped me fall in love with this sport and falling in love with this sport has absolutely been my biggest A-HA moment.

7. What encouragement or advice would you give to new people coming in?

Just show up. Decide that you are going to do it and do it before you have time to talk yourself out of it. That’s how I got through my first several months of CrossFit.

8. What’s your favorite motivational quote and why?

I love these quotes because we all have times when we need that extra push to do something outside our comfort zones. These quotes remind me to take the step that I’m sometimes nervous about taking.
