Tell us about yourself

I am a Travel Agent in training and enjoy learning about new destinations and look forward to visiting them some day. I have a very supportive husband, Doug, and a very handsome fur baby named Gus. I enjoy taking Gus on walks and runs around all the great trails and parks around me. I love spending time with my family every chance I get and hanging out with friends. I love football….GO CHIEFS! Enjoy my beer and wine, painting, running and shopping – or as I call it retail therapy.

What made you start CrossFit?

I started CrossFit to build up my strength, I was just doing a lot of running.

What were your thoughts after your first workout at CFT?

My first CrossFit workout was awesome – I was proud of myself for finishing it!

What impact has CrossFit had in your life in and outside the gym?

CrossFit has taught me to not be afraid, to look forward to challenging myself and proving to myself that I really can do anything I set my mind to in the gym and out.

If you had to write a WOD, what would it be?

My WOD would be wall balls, kettle bell swings & running!

What’s your diet like? How does nutrition play a role in your life?

Nutrition has always been important to me. I never really have dieted, counted calories or owned a scale. That came when I made the decision to do a 40 day fast to recalculate my metabolism and learn what foods my body liked and what one’s to have only once a week.

What advice would you give to a new CrossFitter?

For new folks to CrossFit and would just say it gets easier, the techniques come in time and never look at the next day’s WOD – just show up!

What’s your favorite motivational quote and why?

My favorite motivational quote: You don’t get the ass you want by sitting on it.
