What is the CrossFit Open?
The CrossFit Open is the first stage of the competition known as The Games. It includes a series of WODs released each week for 5 weeks. Athlete performances in each workout are judged, validated, and ranked on the CrossFit Games Leaderboard. The top qualifying individual athletes in each recognized country and top 20 worldwide overall ranked athletes will qualify to compete at the CrossFit Games.
What is the CF Trenches In-House Open?
Trenches hosts a local version of The Open where instead of paying CFHQ the entry fee, you pay Trenches. That money is set aside and the participating athletes get to choose what equipment Trenches will buy with that money after the competition. This is our 4th year of doing this, and it has been a big hit with all of the athletes!
In-House is for ALL LEVELS!
Worried a “competition” is not for you? Do not be intimidated! This is a fun atmosphere. There are many firsts and everyone is extremely supportive!
The workouts are released every Thursday evening. Trenches will do the workouts during regular class periods on Fridays. We even add a 6pm class on Fridays to accommodate everyone. Have a limited membership? Have a friend that wants to participate? Friday classes are free during the Open!
Themes, Cheering, & Beering
We have weekly themes where you can earn points to boost your spot on the leaderboard. Athletes will come from other classes to help with judging. Due to the pandemic, we will forego the happy hours at restaurants and bars, but we will host a socially distanced gathering at the gym. More details coming soon.
Want to participate in the CFHQ Open as well (or instead)?
You can do both or choose between the 2. Please keep in mind that if you only participate in the CFHQ open, you will not be able to participate in the equipment decision, but we will be able to provide a judge and validate the results. Click here to register at HQ.
